Ingredients
Paneer - cubed 14 oz block Basmati Rice - 3 cups Water - 5 cups Salt - to taste oil - 2tbsps One Medium Bowl Star anise - 2 small Bay leaf - 2 small Cinnamon - 2 pcs Cardamom - 2 Cloves - 5 Cumin seeds - 1tbsp One Medium Bowl Red chili powder - to taste ( can use green chillies if desired) Turmeric - 1tsp Garam masala - 1 tsp Coriander powder - 1.5 tbsp Onion - 1 medium thinly sliced Ginger garlic paste - 1.5 tbsp Tomatoes - 2 diced Cilantro - to garnish
Steps
Saute Mode Add Oil Add first bowl (Star anise, Bay leaf, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cloves, Cumin seeds) Fry Add onions fry till soft Add ginger garlic paste 1.5 tbsp Add Tomatoes Add second bowl (Red chili powder,Turmeric - 1tsp,Garam masala - 1 tsp,Coriander powder - 1.5 tbsp ) Fry for a minute Add in the paneer cubes and mix gently Add in the 3 cups soaked rice along with 5 cups of water (Usually 1:2 ratio for rice to water but since there is lot of moisture from tomatoes reduce one cup.) Mix gently and check for salt, the water should be little salty. Cancel Push the rice button. Once it goes into warm mode, immediately do quick release. To avoid overcooking from residual heat, transfer the rice into serving dish . Garnish with cilantro Cover the dish until serving. Enjoy it with Raitha.
