Ingredients
6 large potatoes; peeled, cut into cubes, soaked in water I large onion, chopped 1 tin diced tomatoes, pureed (not fine) 2 cups frozen peas 2 tsp jeera I.5 heaped tbsp ginger-garlic paste 2 tsp salt 1 tsp red chili powder 1/2 tsp haldi powder 1/2 - 3/4 tsp aamchur 3 tsp dhania powder 4 whole green chilis 1/4 tsp hung 1 tsp kasuri methi 3/4 tsp garam masala Cilantro, chopped
Steps
Heat 4 tbsp oil Add jeera Add chopped onions and fry till pale pink Add chopped potatoes; fry well until potatoes develop brown crust Halfway, add ginger-garlic paste and haldi powder and continue frying onions and potatoes When onions and potatoes are light brown, add tomato puree and salt Cover and cook until puree partially thickens,, add dhania, mirchi, aamchur powders Add whole green chilis and hing Mix well and cover and cook for 5 minutes Add peas and water (1 cup) and cover and cook for 10 minutes on Lo-Me Add kasuri methi, garam masala and chopped cilantro, water (to desired consistency) Close lid and cook for another 10 minutes on Lo-Me, and switch off
