Geethu's Kitchen - Unni's Instant Pot Aloo Poori Subji

Ingredients

  1. One Large onion - finely chopped
  2. 9 Medium Potatoes/14 small potatoes
  3. Green Serano Chilli 3 finely chopped
  4. Curry Leaves 3 Sprigs
  5. Coriander Leaves
  6. One small saucer
  7. Pinch of Hing

  8. One small bowl
  9. 2 tsp mustard seeds

  10. One medium bowl
  11. Ginger 2 tsp finely chopped
  12. Green Serano Chilli 3 finely chopped

  13. One medium bowl
  14. Urad dal 2 tsp
  15. Channa Dal 2 tsp
  16. Curry Leaves 3 sprigs/ chopped

  17. One small bowl
  18. Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
  19. Salt 2 tsp

  20. One small bowl
  21. Coriander leaves chopped

  22. One steel Plate
  23. One large onion finely chopped

Method:

  1. Boil 9 potatoes in Instant pot

  2. Choose STEAM option
  3. Place Trivet in Pot
  4. Pour 1 cup water
  5. Place 9 Potatoes on Trivet
  6. Steam on HI pressure for 10 min,
  7. then NPR (wait 10 minutes, release steam)and
  8. remove immediately

  9. Wait to cool
  10. peel skin off
  11. mash/press Potates

  12. Take Large Frying Pan with Lid

  13. Add Oil - one Ladle oil
  14. heat till it liquidifies
  15. Add Mustard seeds - 2 tsp
  16. Add Hing - a pinch

  17. Ginger - 2 tsp finely chopped
  18. Green Chilli - 3 finely chopped

  19. stir

  20. Add onions
  21. mix and stir for 5 minutes

  22. Add Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
  23. Add Salt 2 tsp
  24. Stir
  25. move to border of pan

  26. Add in center of pan
  27. Urad dal - 4 tsp
  28. Channa Dal - 4 tsp
  29. Curry Leaves - 3 sprigs/ chopped

  30. Keep stirring.

  31. Add One-third potatoes
  32. Stir
  33. Add Remaining Potatoes
  34. Keep stirring

  35. Add one medium bowl water

  36. Add Lemon - 2 Tbsp concentrate
  37. and stir

  38. For Garnishing
  39. Add coriander leaves - 1 tbsp finely chopped
