Geethu's Kitchen - Unni's Green Moong

Ingredients

  1. One Large Bowl
  2. 2 cups (3 cups )Green Moong
  3. Wash, rinse and Keep

  4. One bowl
  5. 1 very large (or 2 medium) onion - 4 heaped cups (chopped fine)

  6. One medium Bowl
  7. 1/2 tsp Haldi powder
  8. 1 tsp (1 1/2 tsp) Chilli powder
  9. 1 tsp (1 1/2 tsp) Jeera/ cumin powder
  10. 2.5 tsp (3 tsp) 3 tsp (4 tsp) Salt

  11. One Small Bowl
  12. 2 tsp (3 tsp) Jeera seeds

  13. 2 Cans (3 Cans )Costco 14 oz diced tomatoes

Method:

  1. SAUTE
  2. 1 ladle oil
  3. Fry 2 tsp Jeera/cumin seeds,
  4. then saute chopped red onions for 5+ ~10 minutes (should turn a dark pink)

  5. Add
  6. 1/2 tsp haldi,
  7. 1 tsp (1 1/2 tsp) chilli,
  8. 1 tsp (1 1/2 tsp) cumin,
  9. 3 tsp (4 tsp) salt
  10. and fry some more

  11. Add 2 cans (3 Cans ) Costco diced tomatoes,
  12. and fry

  13. Then add 2 cups (3 Cups) washed Green Moong,
  14. Add 6 cups (8 Cups ) 8 cups (11 Cups ) water

  15. Press CANCEL

  16. Pressure Cook on HIGH for 15 minutes
  17. Open and stir
