Geethu's Kitchen - Geethu's Saravana Tomato Chutney

Ingredients

  1. 8 Roma tomatoes, roughly chopped
  2. 1 small red onion, roughly sliced
  3. 8 garlic pods, sliced thick
  4. 8 long dry red chillis
  5. 8-10 small sprigs of curry leaves
  6. 1 tsp salt
  7. 1/4 - 1/2 tsp haldi powder

  8. For tadka:
  9. 1.5 tsp mustard seeds
  10. 1 tsp jeera seeds
  11. 6 garlic pods, sliced
  12. 1/4 - 1/8 tsp hing
  13. 2 small dry round red chillies
  14. 2-3 small sprigs of curry leaves

Method:

  1. Order of frying in 2-3 tbsp oil:
  2. Garlic
  3. Red chillis
  4. Onion + Dry Curry leaves
  5. Tomatoes
  6. Salt + Haldi

  7. 4.5 cups idli rava + 2.25 cups urad dal =60 idlis
  8. Dosa: 4 dal + 3 rice; 3 dal + 2.25 rice
