Geethu's Kitchen - Geethu's Mutter Paneer (bhrtz)

Ingredients

  1. 2 packs Tofu, pressed and cubed
  2. 1 tsp fake butter

  3. 1.5 tsp jeera seeds
  4. 1/4 tsp hing
  5. 1 large red onion, finely chopped
  6. 1/2 tsp haldi powder

  7. 6 roma tomatoes - Roughly chopped and pureed
  8. 2 inch piece of ginger
  9. 6 cloves garlic
  10. 3 thai green chilies

  11. 1.5 cups green peas

  12. 4 tsp besan - Dry Masala
  13. 4 tsp dhania powder
  14. 1 tsp saunf
  15. 1 tsp MDH Chunky chaat masala

  16. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  17. 3/4 tsp jeera powder

  18. 1 heaped tsp Kasuri methi, dry roasted

  19. 2 flat tsp Deghi Mirch - Tadka

Method:

  1. Fry diced tofu in fake butter and keep aside

  2. On medium flame, heat 1 ladle oil and fry jeera seeds and hing
  3. Add onion and fry until golden brown
  4. Add haldi
  5. 2 minutes later add 1/2 cup water and continue to fry the onion
  6. Add tomato puree and 2 tsp salt
  7. Keep stirring and close lid until it becomes like halwa
  8. Add dry masalas and fry 3 minutes more, stirring constantly
  9. Add peas and continue to fry for 5 minutes, stirring constantly
  10. Add 1/2 cup water, close lid and fry for 4 minutes on MED-LO
  11. Open lid and add 3 cups water, stir
  12. Add fried tofu and jeera and garam masala
  13. Close lid and simmer on MED-LO for 7 minutes
  14. Add kasuri methi, stir and switch off

  15. Separate pan on LO flame, heat 1 Tbsp oil and Deghi mirch
  16. Pour over mixture
