Geethu's Kitchen - Geethu's Dum Aloo - bharatzkitchen

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 bag Costco creamer potatoes or 1 bag Spouts potatoes
  2. 2 tsp deggi mirch powder
  3. Lightly roast and grind together:
  4. 15 peppercorns
  5. 11 cloves
  6. I long stick dal chini
  7. 2 tsp coriander
  8. 2 tsp jeera
  9. 3 tsp saunf
  10. 7 green elaichi



  11. Other ingredients:
  12. 2.5 cups regular curd (or 1 full carton of regular plain yogurt - for Sprouts)
  13. 1 cup buttermilk
  14. 1.5 cups water (or as required for desired consistency)
  15. 1.5 tsp sonth (ginger powder)
  16. 1/4 - 1/2 tsp haldi powder
  17. lots of hing (1 tsp)













Method:

  1. Boil small potatos; poke holes with fork, if from Costco
  2. Mix in bowl: curd, buttermilk, dry ground spices, deggi mirch
  3. Heat oil on Medium flame
  4. Add lot of hing and sonth powder
  5. Fry on low for 1 minute
  6. On Low, add yogurt and mix
  7. Add salt and water for desired consistency
  8. When the mixture starts to boil, add potatoes
  9. Close with lid and let simmer for 10 minutes
  10. Switch off
