Geethu's Kitchen - Geethu's Butter Paneer Masala with no Botter

Ingredients

  1. 1.5 block tofu pressed, diced
  2. 3 cloves
  3. 3 elaichi (seeds)
  4. 1 inch cinnamon
  5. 1/2 tsp black pepper corn
  6. 1 bayleaf
  7. 2 dried red chilies
  8. 2 tsp ginger paste
  9. 1 tsp garlic paste
  10. 1 medlum/large onion, sliced
  11. 2 Tbsp kaju
  12. 6 roma tomatoes - cut into 8
  13. 1.5-2 tsp. salt
  14. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  15. 1/2 tsp. garam masala
  16. 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder

Method:

  1. Heat 2 Tbsp fake butter and fry all except tomatoes till the onions translucent and pink.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes and stir till tomatoes soften and start coming apart
  3. Shut off heat, cool and then grind in Blendtec

  4. Fry tofu in 2 Tbsp fake butter until faintly brown

  5. In pan, add 2 Tbsp fake butter and add blended paste on LO
  6. Add 1.5 -2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp haldi, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala , 2 Tbsp of tomato ketchup
  7. When it starts to boil, let it simmer for 30 min on LO
  8. Drop tofu in simmer for 2 more minutes - shut off heat
  9. Garnish with Cilantro and 1 full tsp of dry roasted Kasuri methi (then powdered by hand)
