Geethu's Kitchen - Geethu's Butter Paneer Masala with no Botter
Ingredients
- 1.5 block tofu pressed, diced
- 3 cloves
- 3 elaichi (seeds)
- 1 inch cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp black pepper corn
- 1 bayleaf
- 2 dried red chilies
- 2 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 medlum/large onion, sliced
- 2 Tbsp kaju
- 6 roma tomatoes - cut into 8
- 1.5-2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp. garam masala
- 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
Method:
- Heat 2 Tbsp fake butter and fry all except tomatoes till the onions translucent and pink.
- Add chopped tomatoes and stir till tomatoes soften and start coming apart
- Shut off heat, cool and then grind in Blendtec
- Fry tofu in 2 Tbsp fake butter until faintly brown
- In pan, add 2 Tbsp fake butter and add blended paste on LO
- Add 1.5 -2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp haldi, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala , 2 Tbsp of tomato ketchup
- When it starts to boil, let it simmer for 30 min on LO
- Drop tofu in simmer for 2 more minutes - shut off heat
- Garnish with Cilantro and 1 full tsp of dry roasted Kasuri methi (then powdered by hand)
